2024 Summer School Accommodation and price list

The 2024  ELLSO Summer School will be held at Uppingham School, Uppingham, Rutland

There is a frequent train service from London to nearby Oakham, and from there it is a short taxi or bus ride to the School. More frequent trains run to Peterborough.There is on-site parking for those who need it, a short walk from the teaching areas.

ELLSO is pleased to have been offered the use of excellent rehearsal and teaching spaces at the School, the extensive grounds, the chapel and the Sports Centre.

Residential accommodation is in two school Boarding Houses, which between them offer a range of room options. All are situated within close walking distance of the excellent music and catering facilities that the school provides.

There are a few twin bedrooms, but all the others are single rooms, set up with the usual bed linen. Showers are within close location of the rooms and most rooms have washbasins. There are also a number of ensuite rooms. Bathrooms and public areas are serviced daily, and bedrooms are cleaned midweek.

In addition to bedrooms and bathrooms, each boarding house has further social/relaxing

areas and TV rooms, and there are kitchens with facilities to make tea and coffee. 

Uppingham School's free wi-fi network is available throughout the school site. 

All resident participants will be provided with breakfast, lunch, dinner and refreshments mid-morning and afternoon. 

Special dietary requirements or allergies can be catered for individually if notified prior to arrival.

Day visitors are welcome. Mid morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea and dinner is provided as part of the course.
